MARAWI CITY — The city of Marawi recently honored Ben BITAG Tulfo with the title of “Honorable Son of Marawi.” The City Council passed Resolution No. 72-09 on September 9, recognizing Tulfo’s contributions to media, charity, and advocacy for marginalized communities. The ceremony, led by Mayor Sultan Atty. Majul Gandamra, celebrated Tulfo’s dedication to truth and courage in his work. Sultan Nasser Sampaco of the Marawi Sultanate League also adopted him as a brother, deepening his connection to Marawi’s culture.
During his visit, Tulfo toured Marawi’s Ground Zero, still bearing scars from the 2017 siege, and announced his independent candidacy for senator, pledging to prioritize rebuilding the city and supporting siege survivors.
